Excellent bike for the price January 4, 2010 J.D. (Washington D.C.) 30 out of 31 found this review helpful
I recently purchased the Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling bike. I've used it a few times and I'm very happy that I went with this bike. I can't talk about other comparably priced bikes on the market ($250-$500 range), but I don't think you can go wrong with this particular bike if you're not looking to spend over a $1000 on a decent spinning bike.
I'm not a hardcore spinner, but I've gone to enough classes at different gyms to know that this bike performs just as well as the $1000+ ones I've used at commercial gyms. It has the same feel as those bikes, and that's something I wasn't sure I'd get in a bike that cost far less.
Here are some bullet points on the bike:
-Quick delivery
-box was a little torn in the corners when I received it. I recommend opening it up and checking on it's condition. I actually sent back the first one I received because I felt bent metal when I reached in the torn hole. However, I decided to open up the second one and discovered that the bent metal was a "protective piece" to prevent damage to the front of the bike. Just be careful when you open it just in case there is a problem and you have to tape the box up and send back!
-I'm 5'11" and 190 pounds and I had no problem adjusting the seat and handle bars to get to a comfortable and proper riding position.
-the wheel spins smoothly and the resistance is consistent and ample. The breaking lever works great as well.
I bought a magnetic resistance bike a few years ago and it's currently dismantled and collecting dust. If you're undecided between the two, take it from me, go with the "spin class" type bike! You don't need a calorie or distance counter...if you don't feel like you're working or not sweating, you'll know it. If you need a heart rate monitor, go with one of the watch ones...they're more accurate than holding onto a cardio machine's handlebars to get a reading.
Overall, 5 out of 5 for this bike. I'm sure more expensive ones have more options or gadgets that may be useful for the hardcore spinners, but if you're like me and into spinning but don't need the extras and the added cost to get them, then go with this bike.
Nice spin bike for the price. July 2, 2009 Brett A. Roberts (Decatur, IL) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Received bike in less than a week. Package arrived in good shape, no defects noted. Assembly took less than an hour, no adjustments required. Good quality for the price, almost $200 less than comparable bikes I've seen in stores. Replaced seat without even trying the one provided, my preference.
good bike fot the price November 13, 2009 J. Mccullough (flagstaff, arizona United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
So got this bike because I did not want to spend another winter not riding. I am not a road biker but just someone who loves to ride my bike all summer. Was thinking about getting a trainer and decided on this bike. Arrived super fast, easy to put together they supplied the tools in the box. Recommend putting a little bike grease on the handlebar stem because it is a little snug but the grease worked great and it slides up and down with ease.
It's quiet, and my friends are jealous. Honestly for the price it is a great deal! I'm not bummed about the snow coming now knowing I will be riding all winter :)
Great spinning cycle for cheap November 28, 2009 J. Hall (Seattle) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I mountain bike as often as I can but the winter is usually a little harder to get motivated. I wanted an indoor cycle that was cheap and well built. This is the one! You can't beat this bike for the price. It's really pretty easy to put together (if you can move the 1000 pound package) and works great. Yes I would change a few things like have a nicer handlebar/armrest, add a computer, etc but for a low price indoor cycle, you really can't ask for anything better.
The wheel is obviously very heavy and offers a huge range of difficulty with an easily adjustable knob. The seat is actually comfortable to me, but I'm used to moderately narrow saddles. The pedals are adequate and you can simply install your own pedal preference if needed. The base is plenty sturdy even on carpet. The handlebar post and seatpost have a small amount of play to them but you don't notice the wiggle at all when riding. Adjustments to a multitude of positions are easy to make. All in all, this is the one to get if you want the cheapest and well built indoor cycle out there. Free shipping from amazon for this brute of a bike is a nice perk too!
Amazing value from a first time reviewer. February 10, 2010 Francis Arellano (westminster, co) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
First, let me start by stating that I don't usually write reviews but I feel strongly about the value of this product. Many of my friends mountain bike and participate in "SPIN" classes. Being avid cyclists, we would rather spend our money on new bikes or components. Price has always been a barrier in owning an Indoor Bike. Stores like W*L M*RT carry indoor bikes for about the same price. Their bikes are much lower quality. I have never considered purchasing an indoor bike because I was never aware of deals like this. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across this deal. I always trust Amazon for honest user reviews and knew this would be a good deal based on the 4* reviews. I had high expectations for this bike and I was not disappointed. The build quality is solid! This bike is 106lbs. It will take two people to get this into the basement. Take a look at my user submitted picture for building tips. I placed aluminum tape at the base of the handlebars as suggested by another reviewer which made the bike rock solid. Buy this bike. You will not be disappointed. Those looking for a good video can't go wrong with [...]. I tried several videos but found this one the most entertaining. At $10, you can't go wrong. I am very happy with this purchase.
